World Languages Language and culture go hand in hand in the world language classroom. The world language student not only learns to communicate in a new language, but also learns to open her mind to new cultures and to the realization that these cultures exhibit a variety of life styles.
Two world languages are taught at Hallahan: French and Spanish. The student’s academic record is considered for placement in the first year of the language. A student is required to complete two consecutive years of one language if she has the ability. She may go on to the third and fourth year of the language with the approval of her teacher. Interest as well as performance is considered before approval is given.
