Our Fall sports teams will be conducting their preseason workouts and tryouts over the next few weeks. Please see the list below for details on when and where tryouts will be and what is you'll need to bring.
Please remember, no student will be permitted to participate without a current PIAA physical turned in on or before the first day the team meets. All forms must be signed by a physician no earlier than June 1, 2020. No exceptions to this rule will be made.
Students must also arrive to these practices and tryouts wearing a mask. Each student will have their temperature taken and a health assessment completed. Social distancing, while not actively participating will be in effect. Any student who does not comply with the rules will not be allowed to participate. It is strongly encouraged that every student athlete brings their own sanitizer, a gallon bottle of water and a towel. No water sharing will be permitted.
Please keep in mind that this is an ever changing situation. Hallahan will comply with all directives set forth by the governor’s office, and the Department of Health. If there are any changes to the start of our athletics program, that will be announced with an email, an update to this page and announcement to our social media accounts.
FALL SPORTS - UPDATED AS OF AUGUST 5, 2020
Tryouts for the Hallahan Golf team will be held on Monday, September 14th. All interested student should report to the Walnut Lane Golf Course immediately after 8th period dismissal. The Walnut Lane Golf Course is located at 800 Walnut Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19128. These sessions should last approximately 3.5 hours. Clubs will be provided to students, if needed. Each student must bring their completed PIAA form by this date, their own sanitizer, water and wear a mask. Despite the delay in tryouts, Soccer will still conduct preseason conditioning on Tuesday August 11th through Thursday, August 13th from 10:00am-12:00pm at Hetzell Field located at ., Philadelphia, PA The conditioning week is voluntary but it is strongly encouraged that the girls attend these work outs.
Tryouts begin September 14th. All student athletes should report to Hetzell Field immediately after 8th period dismissal and should last until 5:15pm. All students must bring their completed PIAA physical by the first day of tryouts on September 14th. All student athletes should have running shoes and spikes every day for practice, their own sanitizer, a minimum of one gallon of water (no water sharing will be permitted), and wear a mask. The first day of tryouts will be on September 14th in the gym immediately after 8th period dismissal. Tryouts will run the first 3 days followed by practices for the team that Thursday and Friday. All student athletes should wear shorts, t-shirt and sneakers. You should bring an extra t-shirt, towel and knee pads. The first meeting will still be on Monday, August 10 at 11:00am for a brief conditioning workout. All those interested in joining the cross country team should meet at the huge Abraham Lincoln Statue located at the corner of Sedgley Drive and Kelly Drive. This is located across the street from Lloyd Hall which is at the top of boat house row. The official practices will begin September 14th after 8th period dismissal. On the 14th, please meet in the main hallway, by the steps near the 19th street entrance. Each student athlete must bring their completed PIAA form on September 14th, their own sanitizer, a water and wear a mask. The team will meet once per week for a group practice and will be expected to follow a training plan on their own for the remainder of the week. This information will be provided by the coach.
