FACTS Financial Aid Application
Hallahan Academic Merit Scholarship
Academic scholarships are awarded to the students with the highest scores on the Scholarship/Entrance Exam.
 

The Mary McMichan Grant for Legacy Students
The Mary McMichan Grant in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded to incoming legacy ninth grade students for their freshmen year. Students must be a daughter, granddaughter or great-granddaughter of a Hallahan graduate.
 
Charles E. Ellis Foundation Grant – Application available January 1st
The Charles E. Ellis Foundation provides grants to qualified female students in good academic standing, who reside in Philadelphia, live in a one-parent household and meet income guidelines. Applications are available online every year from January 1 to April 1 at www.ellistrust.org.

Maguire Foundation- MAGUIRE APPLICATION
Qualified eighth graders may apply for this four year scholarship provided by the Maguire Foundation. Eighth graders must have a demonstrated financial need as determined by SmartAid application, strong academic standing with above 85% average, minimal absences and lateness, commitment to community service, and an application submitted to Hallahan.

Howley Foundation Scholarship – HOWLEY APPLICATION
Nick and Lorie Howley formed the Howley Foundation in 2001, with the intent of helping students, all students, regardless of economic means, receive the best education possible. The Howleys firmly believe that education is one of the most important catalysts to promoting positive change in individuals and society as a whole.

Starting with one student scholarship in a local Cleveland Catholic high school, they have grown the foundation and the Howley Scholars Program to provide meaningful tuition assistance to approximately 400 scholarship students in two major cities (Cleveland and Philadelphia) and college students around the United States.
 
Gwendolyn Tearte ’48 Grant- GWENDOLYN TEARTE APPLICATION
This grant is provided by Gwendolyn Tearte ’48 and The Tearte Family Foundation. Three grants of $500.00 will be awarded annually to incoming freshmen students of African American and/or Latino descent.
Patti Henry ’78 Scholarship- PATTI HENRY APPLICATION
The Patti Henry ’78 Scholarship is a $500.00 four-year renewable scholarship. Students living in 19125 or 19134 zipcode are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Patti continues to be an active member of the Hallahan family and demonstrates a great passion for the mission of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School.
Northeast Catholic Alumni Association
Daughters of Northeast Catholic Alumni Association are eligible for this scholarship. Visit www.necathalumni.org for more information.

Norphans Grant
Alumni of Northeast Catholic High School known as the Norphans. Daughters of Northeast Catholic Alumni Association are eligible for this scholarship. This is a separate grant and application process from the Northeast Catholic Alumni Association grant listed above. Visit www.norphans.org for more information.
Hallahan Alumnae Scholarship
The Hallahan Alumnae Association awards three $1500 scholarships each year beginning with the 2018-2019 school year. Those selected to receive must be legacy students, students in good standing both academically and behaviorally, eligibility will be based on the PSAS and the recipient should not be receiving more than 50% in all other forms of financial assistance and a final determination of the scholarships will be based on the students’ end-of-year report card. The scholarship will be renewable at the end of each semester. Thus, the Alumnae will be awarding half of the scholarship amount at the beginning of each semester.
Hallahan Spring Fling Scholarship
The Hallahan Spring Fling Scholarship was established by five alumnae to provide assistance to deserving young women “with faith, purpose and vision”. Catholic education and enriching our communities were two of the major building blocks of our being. Together, we look forward to helping young women follow in our footsteps and proudly become Hallahan alumnae that “bleed” blue and white. Only 8th grade students who have been accepted to the next incoming freshman class are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 
 
Spring Fling Scholarship applications must be postmarked by May 13, 2019 to be considered for the 2019-2020 school year.
